Cinema For Humanity

With the current global events and the conflicts across different regions, the seventh art has always been a means of uniting people. GFF opened its curtains in 2017 with Cinema for Humanity as its permanent cause to support. GFF recognizes and celebrates the influence of the art of filmmaking to positively impact not only the film industry and talents, but also the social community and the whole world at large. Throughout the past four years, GFF has been exerting the maximum efforts to support various causes from refugees, women empowerment, sustainability and more. Nurturing collaborations has always been in the DNA of GFF. Under Cinema for Humanity, GFF had many prolific partnerships with reputable entities throughout the years including but not limited to UNICEF, UNDP, the Sawiris Foundation, UNHCR and the US Embassy.

GFF’s annual Cinema for Humanity Audience Award is dedicated to recognizing films that exemplify humanitarian themes. Feature-length films across all competitions are eligible to win the award’s trophy, certificate and a cash prize of US $20,000

This year, GFF introduces another regular annual feature of its awards. Jury members will consider inspirational films across all sections that share knowledge and/or raise awareness on issues related to the environment, ecology or wildlife, as well as their sustainability and importance. The winning film will receive El Gouna Green Star, certificate and a cash prize of US $10,000

GFF welcomes partnerships with prestigious entities with the aim to reinforce the festival experience through their unique presence. Under Cinema for Humanity, GFF had many prolific partnerships with reputable entities during the past editions.
