Women of My Life Wins El Gouna Film Festival Prize at the 5th Beirut Cinema Platform
Beirut Cinema Platform (BCP) concluded its 5th edition today, following a 4-day virtual event that focused on the eminent potential of the selected films for impacting social and political realities.
This year, GFF renewed its collaboration with BCP by offering an invitation to the winning Iraqi documentary in development, Women of My Life by Zahraa Ghandour, to participate in GFF’s industry arm CineGouna Platform.
Women of My Life tells the story of Zahraa, an emerging actress and activist who questions her life as a woman in Baghdad by going into her past with her aunt Hayat, while reflecting on the life of human rights activist Hanaa Edwar to guide her search for a future in Iraq.
Beirut Cinema Platform is an initiative designed to bring together 14 Arab independent filmmakers with Arab and international industry professionals, with the aim to encourage co- productions, collaborations and partnerships.
