Born in 1988 in Uralsk, Olga Korotko began making short films while studying under acclaimed director Darezhan Omirbayev. She gained international recognition after being selected for the Asian Film Academy at the Busan Festival. Korotko continued her studies at the New York Film Academy (2014-2015) and participated in the Berlinale Talents Campus in 2016. She earned an MFA in Film Directing from the Zhurgenov National Academy of Fine Arts in Kazakhstan. Her debut feature, Bad Bad Winter (2018), premiered at ACID Cannes. Crickets, It’s Your Turn, is her second feature.
