About Film

Touda is a Sheikha, performing in the bars of her provincial town under the gaze of men. She plans to leave for the lights of Casablanca, to gain recognition performing Aita and ensure a better future for her son.

Nabil Ayouch

Nabil Ayouch is an acclaimed Moroccan director known for his impactful storytelling and exploration of social issues. His work spans across numerous award-winning films, including Ali Zaoua (2000), his first feature-length documentary My Land (2012), Horses of God (2012), Much Loved (2015), Razzia (2016), and Casablanca Beats (2021).  He produced Adam and The Blue Caftan, both directed by Maryam Touzani. Throughout his career, Ayouch has been a pivotal figure in Moroccan cinema, using his platform to highlight the struggles and resilience of marginalized communities.  Everybody Loves Touda premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
