About the film

Layla, a Palestinian-American drummer, visits her grandmother in her new apartment during a fierce storm, claiming she’s there to help her unpack. However, Layla's sinister motives gradually come to light as the hours of that mysterious night unfold, filled with activities ranging from Turkish coffee cup readings to preparing maqluba, all while confronting past traumas. The film presents a haunting fairy tale about two generations of Palestinian immigrants struggling to navigate displacement, life in exile, and death.
