Tobe Hooper is An American filmmaker and screenwriter, he is best known for his work in the horror genre. His notable films include the classic The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) and its sequel Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986), as well as the mini-series Salem’s Lot (1979), adapted from Stephen King’s novel, which earned three Emmy nominations. He also directed Poltergeist (1982), produced by Steven Spielberg, which received three Academy Award nominations.
