About the Film

The movie unfolds in November 2016, when the United States was about to elect its new president. In Arizona, home of the modern cowboy and symbol of a civilization gone selfdestructive, Drexel zooms in on folks living on the margins of society one month before and after the election of Donald Trump.

Director

Claus Drexel

Claus Drexel, originally from Bavaria, moved to Paris to study cinema. During his studies, he worked for several companies in the United States, including LucasFilm, and took part in a project on the technical development of a special effects camera with the Munich-based company ARRI. After finishing his studies, he worked as director of photography on about ten films. In 1996 he moved to directing and directed three short films: “C4” (1996), “Max au Bloc” (1998) and “La Divine Inspiration” (2000), with Keir Dullea (main actor of “2001 – L’Odyssée de l’Espace”). These films are selected in more than 100 festivals on five continents and win numerous awards. In 2007, he made the feature film “Affaire de Famille” with André Dussollier, Miou-Miou and Eric Caravaca, released in June 2008. The script won the CNC’s First Scenario Awards and the film won the Best European Film Award at the 25th Avignon Film Festival. In 2012, Claus Drexel directed the opera “Le Bal” by Oscar Strasnoy at the Théâtre du Châtelet and the “Passion selon Saint Matthieu” by Johann Sebastian Bach at the Cirque d’Hiver. In 2013, his documentary film “Au Bord du Monde”, about the Parisian homeless, was presented in ACID’s selection at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. Then at the Vancouver Festival, Hamburg, Tubingen
