About the film

Olga lives a strictly regulated life without attachments in a vast apartment block. When out of financial necessity she rents a room in her apartment to a man who also sneaks-in his nine-year-old son, an unlikely bond forms. Her carefully controlled world begins to shift, and their lives become intertwined against her will.

Director

Fernando Eimbcke

Fernando Eimbcke is a leading voice in Latin American cinema, celebrated for his minimalist, deeply empathetic storytelling. A graduate of UNAM, the Mexico City-born filmmaker burst onto the international stage when his debut, Duck Season, charmed Cannes in 2004. He followed this success with the acclaimed Lake Tahoe, which clinched the Silver Bear at Berlin in 2008, and Club Sandwich, the 2013 San Sebastián Golden Shell winner. His style gracefully balances quiet humor and keen observation, capturing the tender, transformative realities of youth.
