About the film

A love story in which the boundaries between presence and absence, care and dependence, desire and control blur until they dissolve. Leo and Anne chase each other, touch each other, lose each other, seek each other. They cannot let go or free themselves.

More About Film

Leo and Anne are caught in an intense relationship where presence and absence, care and dependence, desire and control blur as they endlessly chase and lose each other without finding release. Based on a final screenplay by Bernardo Bertolucci, director Andrea Pallaoro shapes a thoughtful meditation on artistic creation, memory, and the fragile conditions of inspiration. Anchored by the grounded performances of Alicia Vikander, Luca Marinelli, and Susan Sarandon, the film avoids simple pastiche to become a genuine artistic dialogue across generations, exploring how human connection echoes through time.
