Andrea Arnold began her career as a dancer and actor before turning to filmmaking. She made her feature debut with Red Road (2006), winning a jury prize at Cannes and a BAFTA for Most Promising Newcomer. Her other films include two more Cannes’ jury prize winners, Fish Tank (2009) and American Honey (2016), as well as Wuthering Heights (2011) and Cow (2021). She won an Oscar® for Best Short Film, Live Action for Wasp (2003). Bird is her sixth feature film.
