Rand Beiruty is a Jordanian writer, director, and producer. After earning her master’s degree in media arts from Bauhaus University Weimar, she is currently pursuing her PhD at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. She co-founded “Shaghab Films” in Amman, which is dedicated to telling inspiring stories of women. Beiruty is an alumna of the Berlinale Talents, Beirut Talents, The Rotterdam Lab, and the Locarno School of Documentary Film. She directed the short animated film Halfway (2017), the documentary Nudar (2020), and the short animated narrative film Encountering Samir, followed by Shadows (2024). Her latest documentary, Tell Them About Us (2024), is currently being showcased at the El Gouna Film Festival.
