Crocodile-men, a mystical river, children who like fishing and a war that is coming to an end, all share the same piece of Colombian land: the village of Bojaya. The villagers hold a strange belief and celebrate death with the “Novenario” ritual. All of that can be the beginning of a very long story in which spirits and people meet to discover what life has to offer after the war.
Juanita Onzaga is a Colombian-Belgian film director and cinematographer. She has a BA in cinematography and a master’s degree in film direction. Her short film The Jungle Knows You Better Than You Do won the Special Prize of the Generation 14plus International Jury for best short film at Berlin International Film Festival, as well as the highly acclaimed VAF Wildcard and other prizes. The movie was also selected worldwide in several festivals.
