About the film
A camera enters the hypermasculine world of bodybuilders and bouncers in Cairo. Sculpted bodies perform strength and control, concealing fragility beneath carefully built armors. As Araby and his peers rehearse and construct their masculine identities, the lens lingers on cracks in their performances. Confronting their rituals of manliness, the filmmaker faces his doubts as a director and insecurities as a man.
