After becoming a target, she bonds with a fearless girl named Maki, discovering an unexpected form of resistance amidst daily violence and the growing threat of exile.

Director

Blerta Basholli

Blerta Basholli is a Kosova-born writer and director who took refuge in North Macedonia and Germany during the conflict. After an incident shakes her community and she becomes a target of rising violence, Dua bonds with a fearless girl named Maki, discovering unexpected resistance as the threat of exile closes in. Drawing on personal memories of growing up amidst protests, displacement, and the looming threat of war, writer-director Blerta Basholli and co-writer Nicole Borgeat ground this complex historical backdrop entirely through Dua’s intimate, resilient personal journey.
