About the film

From a helicopter, the camera glides over vast landscapes, capturing ruins, rocks, and caves. Yet it obsessively returns to the same locations, amidst the periods when bombs explode and airstrikes alter these places, revealing layers of human existence in Palestine that the Israeli occupation seeks to erase. The locations observed by the aerial camera are not abandoned; interspersed throughout the film are brief shots of farmers at work and children playing hide-and-seek. Through its wide shots, montage, and overall style that refrains from adding a personal touch to the narrative, Kamal Aljafari reminds us that Palestinians live under constant surveillance on their land, where the occupation attempts to erase the people from their homeland, history, and collective memory.
