El Gouna Film Festival Partners with the LatinArab International Film Festival to Support Arab Cinema
In line with its stated objectives of supporting Arab filmmakers around the world, El Gouna Film Festival (GFF) recently finalized a cooperation agreement with the LatinArab International Film Festival. Under this cooperation, GFF will extend a $ 5000 cash prize to an Arab fiction project in development participating in the forthcoming LatinArab Co-Production Forum.
The LatinArab Co-Production Forum is a benchmark platform and a hub between the Latin American and the Arab film worlds. The Forum targets projects in development and post-production stages coming from Latin America and the Arab world. The Forum is an opportunity to promote new audiovisual projects, enable co-production agreements, and strengthen cooperation between industry professionals with its activities that range between pitching sessions, business rounds, work in progress competition and specialized conferences.
GFF is on a mission to build on these collaborations to empower Arab filmmakers, especially outside the Arab world, and promote their projects and films at various stages in international cinema forums, thus enhancing their opportunities for co-production and distribution.
