Quo Vadis Aida, The Man Who Sold His Skin and Another Round Officially Nominated for the 93rd Academy Awards

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the final list of nominations for the 93rd Oscars, and we are happy to announce that GFF film alumni scored the majority of nominations for the Best International Feature Film category.

Representing Tunisia is Kaouther Ben Hania’s The Man Who Sold His Skin, the recipient of the Edipo Re Inclusion Award of the 77th Venice International Film Festival, and winner of the Best Arab Film Award at the 4th edition of GFF. The Man Who Sold His Skin was also part of CineGouna SpringBoard’s projects in development selection during the 2nd edition of GFF, where it was awarded US $10,000 from Beelink Productions.

One of the highly acclaimed films of 2020 and Golden Star for Best Film winner Quo Vadis, Aida? by Jasmila Žbanic, is representing Bosnia and Herzegovina. Representing Denmark is Thomas Vinterberg’s masterpiece, Another Round, which was part of the Official Selection out of Competition line-up at the 4th edition of GFF. In addition, Vinterberg received a nomination for Best Director.

The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, on April 25, 2021, two months later than originally planned, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
