The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced shortlists in 10 categories for the 94th Academy Awards: Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, International Feature Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Music (Original Score), Music (Original Song), Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film, Sound and Visual Effects.

Fifteen films will advance in the Documentary Feature category for the 94th Academy Awards, among which Flee by Jonas Poher Rasmussen was selected.

In addition, 15 films will advance to the next round of voting in the International Feature Film category; where 5 GFF films made the final list. Selected to represent Belgium is Laura Wandel’s Playground, Jonas Poher Rasmussen’s Flee represents Denmark, Compartment No. 6 by Juho Kuosmanen represents Finland, I’m Your Man by Maria Schrader represents Germany, while Joachim Trier’s The Worst Person in the World  represents Norway. Last but not least, Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch will advance in the original score category.

The official nominees of the 94th Academy Awards are scheduled to be announced on February 8, 2022.
