Beirut Cinema Platform concluded its 6th edition today, following a three-day virtual event that focused on the eminent potential of the selected films for impacting social and political realities.

This year, GFF renewed its collaboration with Beirut DC by offering an invitation to the winning Palestinian hybrid documentary in development, Theft of Fire by Amer Shomali, to participate in GFF’s industry arm CineGouna Platform.

The film is set in the early 1980s, where a lonely Palestinian museum curator hatches a daring plot to break into a secret Israeli prison and steal back a trove of looted antiquities from legendary general Moshe Dayan.

Among the participating projects in BCP this year; Hamlet from the Slums by Ahmed Fawzi Saleh, Weedstine by Said Zagha, and Hanging Gardens by Ahmed Yassin Al Daradji, all of which were part of CineGouna Platform.

Beirut Cinema Platform – BCP is a new initiative designed to bring together 16 Arab independent filmmakers with Arab and international industry professionals, with the aim to encourage co- productions, collaborations and partnerships.
