About the Film

During the summer of 1990 in Chile, a small group of families living in an isolated community right below the Andes built a new world away from the urban excesses. Meanwhile, the teenagers Sofía, Lucas and Clara struggle with their parents, their first love, and their fears.

Director

Dominga Sotomayor

Dominga Sotomayor was born in Santiago, Chile. She studied audiovisual directing at Universidad Católica de Chile, and earned a master’s degree in directing at ESCAC in Barcelona. She developed her first feature Thursday till Sunday at the Cannes Cinéfondation Residence. The film won the Tiger Award in Rotterdam in 2012 and was screened in more than a hundred festivals. In 2013 she codirected The Island, which also won the Tiger. Her latest film Too Late to Die Young (2018, GFF) established her as the first female director who won the Leopard for the Best Direction Prize at the Locarno Film Festival. Sotomayor is the co-founder of Cinestación, a leading production company based in Santiago.
