About the Film

Federico is on holiday with his father and brother in an upper-class summer residence in Sardinia. Their father, Aurelio, is a severe and overtly masculine man who makes Federico feel anxious and inadequate. When a wealthy German family invites them to dinner, Federico discovers he is not so different from his father.

Director

Antonio Donato

Antonio Donato, an Italian director, writer, and editor, originally explored contemporary themes through video art installations, focusing on masculinity and social anxiety. After studying film-making in London, he contributed to productions with roles in producing, editing, and directing some showcased in BAFTA and Oscar qualifying festivals. Shooting Watermelons is his graduation film from London Film School.
