Myriam and Sabri are a young couple who have been married for one year. For their first wedding anniversary, Myriam, a conservative and veiled kindergarten teacher; decides to grant her husband Sabri, a taxi driver, a very strange gift by reconstructing her hymen and virginity one more time. Little does she know her naive and desperate gesture will paradoxically lead her to a very liberating awareness.
Tunisian director and producer Latifa Robbana Doghri specialized in writing and editing children’s stories before studying multimedia communications. Her first documentary Boxing With Her competed in the Official Selection at the 2011 Doha Tribeca Film Festival, and won the Golden Hawk at the 2012 Arab Film Festival of Rotterdam. Her second film Made in Gougou won the Nile Grand Award for Best Short Documentary at the 2014 Luxor African Film Festival.
